Accomplishments

  • Stood up for affordable housing by approving 325 units of new affordable housing for Hayward
  • Fought for funding for homeless services like the Downtown Streets Team 
  • Stood up for our nonprofits by not backing down on key funding recommendations to the City Council
  • Supported our students and teachers on the Parent Teacher Club
  • Helped set budget priorities for our school on the School Site Council
  • Became a substitute teacher to better understand what teachers were up against in our local schools
  • Provides pro bono legal services to families and seniors in Alameda and Santa Clara Counties
  • Managed capital campaign for a new, state-of-the-art, senior center in Palo Alto
  • Fought for indigent clients in the criminal justice system as a law clerk for the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office
  • Provided research on homicide trends, controlling gun sales, and the San Francisco Promise project as a law clerk for the City of San Francisco Mayor’s Office
